Then he said : ' Now .
Ráwa títiri witatuutárista .
Now today I am going to do it .

Siwitiirasuráru .
They gave him moccasins .
Kskiíti’iks siwitiirasuráru   hi si’ahiraaru .
Four (pairs) they gave him moccasins , and they gave them to him .

Hiru ahiwáku’     Wiruutucíraa’u’ .
Then he said : ' That's alright .
Ráwa witatuutárísta .
Now I am going to do it .
Tiwiratuutáristarit kaakatuutárista kíriku’ .
What I am going to do I am not going to do it anything .
Isiírit rakúraa’u kici tatuutárista iriiraruúhuuru ratkuutaara .
Plainly to be thus but I am going to do it it being that way for me to do it .
Hi kukara’isiraapicka’ .
And don't you (pl) think anything .
  Rikuwitiwáku’ .
" That is what he said .

Hiru ahiwáku’     Ráwa tiwiratuutaristarit    
Then he said : ' Now what I am going to do , "
wiwitúhcawiirit     istapícka   witirihkuwaawuuci .
now he stood upright , ' if you (pl) want , go to bed .
Kíci tatkírikuksta .
But I am going to be awake .
Ruutiraakítawi’ ráhiisa .
Then the way will be on top when daylight comes .
Hiru itiraarahuuráwi’at .
Then I'll make preparations .

Hiru ahiriíwaki’ piíta     Hi hawá riihápicka’
Then they said the men : ' And also we want
ratkurattahkirika’u .
for us to be awake .

  Ruutúciraa’u’ .
' That's alright .
  Hi ahawáku’     Irurúciraa’u’ .
" And he said , ' That is alright .

Ráwa hiru ahúci’a   hiru ahiispaátasit iriirattáruuci
Now then he did it : then he started out where the fireplace was
irii’ahataruucuhu .
where he was making a fire .
Hiru ahiwáku’     Títaku tátuhta .
Then he said : ' Here I am going to go .
  Hiru ahí’at .
" Then he went .

Tiwákaahu’ iriiraa’iiwaati .
He was saying what they told .

Pahiítu’ raawíti’at iwi’ahaaspaátasit .
Slowly he just went when he started off .
Hiru ahá’at .
Then he went .
Hiruuu witiwícat uukaáhkat úrariisit   hi ahá’at   hi
Then he arrived outside straight , and he went , and
ahá’at   hi ahá’at .
he went , and he went .
Hiru ahuctaakáhat   hi istú ahawícat iriruksáriki .
Then ahuctaakáhat , and again he arrived where he stood .

Híru ahi’uuriirit caskií’ .
Then he stood a little .
Wituutári’   isiírit wititkahaariwiiruútiku’   hawá
He was doing it : plainly he was listening , also
raahkuucáhpiitit a raáhkutka’u .
his stooping over and for him to hear it .
Si’ahítkiriku .
They watched him .

Caskiít witíraakii hi ahaaspaátasit .
A little it was a while and he started off .
Hi hawá ahá’at   hi ahá’at .
And also he went , and he went .
Hi hawá ahuctaakáhat .
And also he went around .
Hiru iriira’uuriiriku ahawícat .
Then where he was standing he returned .

Hiru ahi’uuriirit .
Then he stood there .
Ahuutasárit .
He stood there .
Aáka’a   hi si’ahiitiirit   wiruu’ahikickakuusit iriruutahu
Oh , and they saw him : now he was perspiring its being thus
rakuukickakuusit .

Hiru ahíkstaca’ ckáhiri’ rakukickaasistaruuwaahi .
Then he raised his hands to his face to wipe the sweat off .
Hiru ahá’at .
Then he went .
Wiwítiwiitit .
Now he sat down .

Then he just sat down .
Hi si’ahihaa’iirit .
And they saw him .
Aáka   hi ahasuúki ruuwitii’asurahkákstit .
Oh , and his moccasins there the moccasins were ragged .
Witii’asuraaruurut ráhiira’ raahkuhuurutka’uukut .
His moccasins were muddy sometime his walking in mud .
Hiru ahiraruúwa .
Then he took them off .
Hiru ahúci’a   hi ahaasuraruúwa .
Then he did it : and he took his moccasins off .
Hiru witi’ahuciksta’íwari’   Tihaá’ahuutári’ .
Then he blessed himself ; Here he was doing it .

Wituutasuraárihta .
He had moccasins tied at his waist .
Táwit wituutasuraarihta .
Three (pairs) he had moccasins ties at his waist .
Hiru ahúci’a   ásku ahaasuraruúwa .
Then he did it : one (pair) he took the moccasins off .
Hiru witi’ahiskawaawarit .
Then he put the moccasins on himself .
Wiwitiraariihac   hiru ahuúcaa’ .
Now he finished , then then he arose .
Hi aha’uuriirit .
And he stood there .

Witiicahpií’uuriirit .
He stood bent over .
Ahuutasiitiku kuuhawaawattiiku’ .
As he was doing it he was talking .
Hiru ahiispaátasit irii’ahuutári .
Then he started off as he was doing it .
Ruu ahá’at   a ahá’at   a ahá’at .
Then he went , and he went , and he went .
Hiru witiwícat úrariisit uukaáhkat .
Then he arrived straight outside .
Hi aha’uuriirit   hi ahuutásarit .
And he stopped , and he stood .
Wititkahaariwiiruutiku’ ahuutasáriki .
He was listening as he stood .

Ráwa hi istú ruu’ahiispaátasit   hiru ahí’at .
Now and again then he started off ; then he went .

Then he went .
Hiru iriirawicpu iriira’uuriiriku hawá ahawícat .
Then where he was arriving where he was stopping also he reached there .
Hiru ahi’uuriirit .
Then he stopped .
Ahuutasárit irii’ahuutári raahkutkahaariwiiruutiku
He stood there where he was doing it when he was listening

as he was doing it .
Ráwa hiru ahiispaátasit .
Now then he started off .
Hirú ahí’at   a ahá’at   a ahá’at .
Then he went , and he went , and he went .
Ruu ahá’at .
There he went .
Ráwa ahuctaákahat .
Now he went around in a circle .
Iriira’uuriiriku hawá ahawícat .
Where he was stopping also he arrived .
Hiru ahi’uuriirit .
Then he stopped .
Aáka   hi si’ahiitiirit .
Oh , and they saw him .
Ruuwitiikickakuusit iriruútahu rakúksata rakuúti .
There he was perspiring as it was when he went as it was .
Hiru ahiwiítit ístu’ .
Then he sat down again .
Hiru ahúci’a   ruuwitiisurahkakstit kituú’u’ .
Then he did it : there his moccasins were worn out entirely .
Tihuctariihurahkakac kituú’u’   a tiistaaruuruhtu’
The seams were torn apart entirely , and his feet were muddy
tirahrakuksurutkuukut .
his having been in the mud .
Ahararuúwa haáwa’ .
He took them off again .
Híru ahiraruúwa .
then he took them off .
Tihií’aharuúci hiru witiriiskawaawarit .
He took these others then he put the moccasins on .
Aáka’a   hiru ahuucaá’ .
Oh , then he arose .
Istú aha’uuriirit hi ahuutásarit .
Again he stood up and he stood .

Witiicahpí’uuriirit ahuutasariki .
He stood stooped over as he stood .
Istú páhiitu’ ahiispaátasit .
Again slowly he started off .
Hiru ahí’at   hiruuu ahá’at   a ahá’at .
Then he went , then he went , and he went .
Hiruuu hawá witiwícat uúrariisit uúkaahkat .
Then also he arrived straight outside .
Hiru ahi’uuriirit hi ahatkahaariwiiruutiku’ .
Then he stopped and he was listening .

Istú ahiispaátasit .
Again he started off .
Hiru ahí’at   ruu ahá’at   a ahá’at .
Then he went , then he went , and he went .

Páhiitu’ raaruuwití’at   hi ahá’at   hi ahá’at .
Slowly then he just went , and he went , and he went .

Witituúsaahu’ iriruútahu rakuuriciisat .
He was panting as if it were for him to be tired .

Then he did it .
Aáka   hi si’ahitkiríku   ruuwitiikickakuusisittit .
Oh , and they watched him : there he was perspiring all over .
Hiru ahúci’a   raaruuwítiwiitit huraáriri’ .
Then he did it : then he just sat down on the ground .
Hiru ahúci’a   witiihaaskaruuwati .
Then he did it : he took his moccasins off .
Aáka   ruuwitiisurahkakstit .
Oh , there his moccasins were worn out .
Ráwa ahaasaruucu   hawá ahaasaruúcuha .
Now he laid them down , also his laying them down .
Hawa tihi’ahaaruuci .
Also he took these others .
Ruuwitihiiskawaawarit .
Then he put the moccasins on .

Hiru ahuucaá’ .
Then he arose .
Istú ahuucaá’ .
Again he arose .
Ahúhcawi’uuriirit .
He stood upright .
Tiítkahaariwiiruutiku’   hawá hítaku rakutpí’uu’aara .
He was listening , also the other way for him to turn .

Hiru ahiispaátasit .
Then he started off .
Híru ahí’at   a ahá’at .
Then he went , and he went .
Hiru witiiratkahaarawikii’ac .
Then it was late into the night .
Witihwakí’aahu’ witiratkahahtiriwiraahat   witihwakí’aahu’ piíta
They were saying it was past midnight , they were saying the men
raahkuksawácitit .
when he would go outside .
Hiru ahí’at .
Then he went .
Istú ruu’ahí’at irii’ahawícpu .
Again there he went where he was arriving .
Hiru ahi’uuriirit ahuútasariki .
Then he stopped as he stood there .
Isiírit tiicikstara rakuuwiiíkaara .
Plainly he thought that he was tired .
Híru ahúci’a   hiru áhiwiitit haáwa’ .
Then he did it : then he sat down also .
Aáka   witi’ahiiskaruuwat .
Oh , he took his moccasins off .
Aáka   ruuwitiisurahkakstit   huhkákusu’ hítaku
Oh , there the moccasins were ragged , the sole the other side
raahkucítaku .

Híru ahiraruúwa .
Then he took them off .
Ráwa tihíraruuci ruuwitihiiskawaawarit .
Now the other pair then he put the moccasins on .

Hiru ahuucaá’ ístu’ .
Then he arose again .
Hiru aha’uuriirit .
Then he stood up .
Caskií’it witiraakii aha’uuriirit hi ahukspaáwattiiku’ .
A little it was a while he stood up and he was talking .

Híru ahiispaátasit .
Then he started off .
Páhiitu’ raaruuwíti’at .
Slowly then he just went .
Hiru ahá’at   a ahá’at .
Then he went , and he went .

Hi ásku piíta kuuhuksawacitit   hi ahawáku’ wi’ahahuuka’  
And one man he went outside , and he said now he came in :
  Ruuwitikiraarawataa hiru iriirahiísahu .
' It is light (outside) there where it is daybreak .
 
"

Hi ahíhwaki’     Wiruutíraawi’u’ raakuhiisahistarit .
And they said : ' It is about time for dawn to come .
Wikuhaahiisahista .
Now it is going to be morning .
 
"

Hi kici’ tiraáriki ahá’at .
And but this one he went .
Hiru ahá’at   a ahá’at .
Then he went , and he went .
Hiru ahí’at iriira’uuriiriku hi ahawícat .
Then he went where he was stopping and he arrived .
Hiru ahuciisuuriirit   hi aha’uuriirit .
Then he stood thinking , and he stood there .

Wituutári’   i’ahaáriki takaaraáhisu’ ahuúta   hi
He was doing it : as he stood there suddenly he did it : and
ahaacikstiiwatta’ .
he made a groan .
Páhiitu’ raawítuuta     He   iiiu .
Slowly he just did it : ' Hey , iiiu .
  Hiru ahúci’a   ahakstaaruúcaa’  
" Then he did it : he raised his hands ;
ahakstaarickawiriitit caskií’it .
he raised his hands upward, palms facing outward a little .

Hi istú ruu’áhi’uuriirit .
And again then he stood up .
Hiru ahiispaátasit .
Then he started out .
Híru ahí’at .
then he went .
Ruu istú ahawícat uukaáhkat .
There again he arrived (in) the east .
Hi ahá’at   hi ahá’at   hi ahá’at .
And he went , and he went , and he went .
Ruú istú iriirawícahu istú ahaawíca’ haáwa’ .
Then again where he was coming again he returned also .

Híru áhi’uuriirit .
Then he stopped .
Híru ahuciísuuriirit .
Then he stood thinking .
Páhiitu’ raawituúta   ahaacikstiíwattahu’ .
Quietly he just did it : he made a sound in his throat .
Wítuuta     Iii .
He did it : ' Iii .
  Rihúksu’ wítuuta .
" Only he did it .

Hiru ahaápakspaatahu’ .
Then he raised his head .
Híru ahiwáku’     Ráwa   tirastápihat piíta a riisaáru’  
Then he said : ' Now , you sitting here men and chiefs ,
witacakuuhaakacikskaapaakis atí’as ti’ahakítaku .
now he will bless us our Father this one who is above .
  Rikuwitiwáku’ .
" That is what he said .
  Ráwa táraha’ wituuhaahwí’uu’a suúhuri’ .
' Now the buffalo the herd is turning this way .
Witaraahwícaahu’ suúhuri’ .
They are coming this way .
 
"

Aáka   tirawíhat witiiracikstiihuu’ .
Oh , these they were thankful .

  Aáka   ráwa   riisaáru’ a tirastápihat   ráwa ráhiisa
' Oh , now , chiefs and you sitting here , now tomorrow
wirisakuhtiiriwiíraahat wititasiráttikaahista .
after it is noontime you must ready yourselves .
Táraha’ witarahwícahista .
The buffalo they are going to arrive .
 
"

Uu   ahiíracikstiihuu’ .
Oh , they were thankful .

Ahawáku’     Ráwa hi riituuhaara’íhku tiwíratpaaka   ráwa
He said : ' Now and I mean this way this that I say , now
kici atí’as títaku ahakítaku rikuuháwicka’ irirákuuta.
but our Father here the one who is above he wants this as it is
  Witiwákaahu’     Iriiracakuuhaakacikskaapaakisu ráwa
" He was saying : ' What he is blessing us with now
irikuúsuci’a atí’as rakuuhaára .
that is how it will be our Father for him to do .
Ráwa wikuhaaraawícaahu raakúhiisa   a
Now when it is approaching the time to be daylight , and
witi’isuksawactaakawaáwa’uc =.
you (pl) will at last lie down !
Kici hawá ruutatiíhuhta witiratkuksuhuuruca .
And also I am going to go there for me to lie down awhile .
  Rikuwitiwáku’ .
" That is what he said .

Hiru áhiwiitit .
Then he sat down .
Hiru ahiwáku’     Ráwa   ciruú riihaawisahista .
Then he said : ' Now , yet I am going to smoke .
  Hiru ahiraahkáwarit .
" Then he filled his pipe .
Hiru ahiraáwisa .
Then he smoked .
Riisaáru’ tíraaku hiru ahiriíhaaku .
Chief this one then he gave him the pipe .
  Ciruú taciraáwisa .
' Yet you and I will smoke .
  Ráwa wisiiharaáwisa .
" Now they (du) smoked .
Siiharaawiskariihac .
They (du) finished smoking .
Hiru ahúci’a   tuuhatkaahuriiriku’ rattáwiskaaru’ .
Then he did it : he cleaned the pipe out the pipe .
Híru ahúci’a   ráwa piíta ruu’ahuucaá’ .
Then he did it : now the man then he arose .
Riisaáru’ tíraaku hiru áhuuta   ruu’ahikaáta’uukut hi
Chief this one then he did it : then he moved in the back and
irawíhat piíta ahaaraaruucaa’ a taahkaatawiitit .
those men they arose and he would sit in the back .
Taahkaatawí’at a kutaahkúsit kíriku’   raawiíhtaaka
He would go in the back and he would pick it up something , a blanket
a riruurakuu .
or whatever it was .
Siihiraáwa’u piíta ahaáriki .
They gave them to him the man who stood .
Riisaáru’ ahawáku’     Ráwa witiisá’ Sakuúru’ Taá’ .
The chief he said : ' Now he is named Coming Sun .
Sakuúru’ Taá’ witiisá’ .
Coming Sun he is now named .
  Ahawáku’     Ráwa   Sakuúru’ Taá’   tiriíku kici
" He said : ' Now , Coming Sun , here it is but
raawiíhtaaka .
a blanket .
  A rarúksu’ ahá’u .
" And a tobacco pouch he gave him .

Tihií tirawíhat piíta hi ahaaráwaa’ ráhiira’ raahkuraaha
Here these men and they came sometimes one carrying it
pítaksu’   a ásuuru’ siihiirasuráru .
a robe ; or moccasins they gave him moccasins .
Aáka   ahaácikstiihii’ .
Oh , he was thankful .

Hiru ahiraaríruuwa   hi tíraaku piíta hiru ahúci’a  
Then they all sat down , and this one man then he did it :
ahawáku’     Ráwa witahiísahista .
he said : ' Now it is going to be daylight .
Witisuksawactaakawaawa’uc =.
You (pl) go to bed for awhile !
Hiru kici witátuhta witiratkuksuhuuruca .
Then but I am going to go for me to lie down now .
 
"

Aáka   riitihwakí’aahu’     Isaá piíta     i’ahawaáka    
Oh , they were saying : ' He is a man , " after he said , '
ráwa riisakuhtiiriwíraahat hi wiwiti’istaakuhuuriihac .
now after is is noon time and now you'll ready yourselves .
Wititasirattikaahista .
You are going to prepare yourselves .
Táraha’ witaráhwiica’ .
The buffalo they are approaching .
 
"

Ahawáku’     Ráwa riisakuhtiiriwíraahat caskií’it   hi
He said : ' Now it is after noon a little , and
tiirahaákakaawi piíta sitiwáhuhta
(from) this home of mine men they (du) are going to go
sirakuuhaa’iíriksata .
for them (du) to go see them .
Hi rihúksu’ siraawícpa hi síriwaaka    
And just when they (du) come back and when they say , `
Tiwiruutasú’at táraha’     hiru isirattaaraspaatasit .
Here they are lined up the buffalo , ' then you'll start out .
  Rikuwitiwáku’ .
" That is what he said .

Hi ahihwáki’aahu’     Ráwa   ráwa .
And they were saying : ' Now , now .
 
"

Ráwa hiru ahuciraaririipaapu pítaksu’   hi
Now then he was folding them the robes , and
ahaasuraraawacitit .
he took his moccasins (and the other things) out .
Ahákarucpaawu .
He had bundled them up .
Ahúkspiitat hiru ahikarucpaawu .
What he was wearing then he was bundling them in it .
Ráwa tihíraaku ruuwitiihiwitattit .
Now this other one (robe) then he put it on himself .
Tihiraruuci ruu’ahúciraaririipu .
These others then he was folding them up .

Hiru ahiwáku’ piíta ásku     Sakuúru’ Taá’   síkstaa’ hi
Then he said man one : ' Coming Sun , bring it and
ituúhara’ iriirastaakakaawi =.
I'll carry it for you where your home is !
 
"

Hiru ahiwáku’     Iriwitúraahi .
Then he said : ' That is good .
  Hiru ahí’at .
" Then he went .
Hiru ahuúcaa’ .
Then he rose .

Hiru sihiiwaciruutit .
Then they (du) went outside .
Hiru siihiwa hiru iriiraruurakaáwi .
Then they (du) went there where his home was .
Ahuuhárahuukat .
He took his bundle inside .
Hiru ahiruúcu   hi ahaacikstiihuu .
Then he put it down , and he was thankful .
  Iriwitúraahi tiraskuuharaa .
' That is good this that you brought for me .
 
"

Piíta wi’ahaahuuka’ .
A man now he came inside .
  Aáka   wítatuutihitkista wiratuuharahuuka .
' Oh , now I am going to spread it out what I have brought in .
 
"

Ráwa hiru ahiwáku’     Ráwa .
Now then he said : ' Now .
 
"

Hiru ahiriiwáki’     Ráwa .
Then they said : ' Now .
 
"

Ráwa hiru ahiwáku’     Witahiisahísta .
Now then he said : ' Now it is going to be daybreak .
Witiituksuhuuraakawaawa’uc =.
Let's lie down awhile !

Hiru witi’ahiriiwaawa’uc .
Then they all lay down .
Iriruuraáhkuuku hi wititaaruuc .
Wherever one sat and he would lay down .

Ráwa iwi’áhahiisa kítuu’u’   kici cápaat
Now when it was morning entirely , but the women
wi’ahiraakaáruruuku’ .
they were cooking .
Witarahwatpaawaa’ hi aharahkírikaari hi ahiihaákawa’ac .
They were getting up and after they were awakening and they were eating .

Hi ti’ahaáku piíta riisaáru’ hiru ahiwáku’     Ráwa
And this one man chief then he said : ' Now
tátuhta iraarakaawi .
I am going to go (to) that lodge .
Kíra kustúciirit kúrahus .
Let me see him the old man .
Kustúciirit .
I will see him .
Hiru tátuhta iraáhtaku .
There I am going to go over there .
 
"

Hiru ahí’at .
Then he went .
Kuhuutattaarikaa’     Tiwitiwáku’ piíta .
He told them : ' He said this the man .
 
"

Witihwáki’     Iriwitúraahi .
They said : ' That is good .
 
"

Hiru ahiíwacitit .
Then he went out .
Hiru tihi’ahákaawi ahawaa’ahuukat hi ahuutattaarikaa’
Then this other lodge he went inside it and he told them
tiwi’ahawaaka piíta .
this that he had said the man .
Hi ahawáku’ piíta     Kasiicittaarikaahu’ piíta hariikis
And he said the man : ' You must tell them the men the calves
taraarirasahista .
they are going to be in front .

Ásku raáwaki’ kusikaraririitawiirahat =.
One a spotted one don't touch it !

Ráwa piíta riku’ahawáku’ iwi’ahuutiirit kúrahus
Now the man that is what he said when he saw him the old man
pattíkus ahá’u .
the crier the one who was .
Hiru ahuciraaríkaa’     Tikaasiwáku’     Siwitiwáhuhta
Then he told him : ' You will say this : ` They (du) are going to go
ariísit iriirákaawi piíta   hi ríhuksu’ sirawícpaa’
themselves where the lodge is the men , and just when they return
  hi ríhuksu’ siriwáku’     Tiwiruutasu’at     hiru
, and just when they (du) say , ' They are lined up , " then
itaraakaspaatasiiku’ .
we'll (in pl) start out .
  Rikaasiwáku’ .
' You will say that .

Hi riku’ahuuta piíta   hi wi’ahawattiku hi
And that is what he did the man : and when he was calling and
riku’ahawáku’ .
that is what he said .

Wirihwakí’aahu     Wirisakuhtiiriwíraahat     ruuwitiiciraakiriku
When they were saying , ' It is now past noon , " they were looking
  hi si’ahawa piíta .
, and they (du) went the men .
Hi ahíwaki’     Hiru wisiraahwa .
And they said : ' Then they (du) go over yonder .
 
"

Wiwituutasuuhat .
Now they (people) were lined up .
Wikuúhaaciksta   hi caskií’it aharáakii hi siihaáwaa’ .
They were watching , and a little it was a time and they (du) came .
Ahihwáki’     Hi wisiraáwaa’ .
They said : ' And here they (du) come .

Siwitiraárikita siihaawaa .
They were riding as they (du) came .
Siwitikátarii .
They (du) were fast .
Hi aharahkusickawi’at .
And they went to meet them .

Hi si’ahawáku’     Ráwa tiwiruútasuuhat táraha’
And they (du) said : ' Now here they are lined up buffalos
tirasaákaku tiruuhaarírahaaru .
in the south this side .
Ruu raaruutuciísu’at .
There there is just a herd .

" They were making a seat for him .

  Hiru riitiwiitit .
' Then I sat down .
Aáka   ruutatuksat aruúsa’ riiratiriihwaariki .
Oh , I went there horses where mine were .
Tatuksakiikaariku’ hi tiriitiira .
I was watering them ah I came here .
Caskií’it ratuksku hiru riitirii’a’ .
A little after my sitting then I came .
Hi riíticka’ caskií’it títaku kiítahuukat .

And she said the woman : ' Now I am going to do that .
  Hiru ahuucaá’ cápaat .
" Then she arose the woman .

Then she went : a plate she picked it up .
Tiiritkataku kuctáhkata .
There was by the fire a brass kettle .

Soup she was putting it in (a bowl) .

Oh , then she brought the soup .

Then she said : ' Soup also here's some .
