ARIKARA TRADITIONAL NARRATIVES


Presented below in analyzed, interlinear format are 156 traditional Arikara narratives. The collection includes myths, legends, historical accounts, and humorous stories that were recorded between 1970 and 1985, from the last generation of fluent Arikara speakers who possessed a knowledge of their cultural heritage.
