Ray Taken Alive (Hunkpapa Lakota/Dakota)

Ray Taken Alive (Hunkpapa Lakota/Dakota) is currently the Lakota Language and Cultural Community Coordinator for the McLaughlin School District on the Standing Rock Nation. He is an Eminent Scholar for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and a teacher of the Lak̇ot̄a Language. Ray is a staunch advocate for Indigenous Data Sovereignty and the protection and return of Indigenous Intellectual Property. He resides in the Bear Soldier community on the Standing Rock Nation with his wife- Lisa Bordeaux-Taken Alive, and daughter Henley.
