Andi Herawati is interested at exploring the intersections of Islamic and indigenous cosmologies. Her research traces concepts of imagination (khayāl) through the works of Ibn 'Arabi and their resonances in the living traditions of Indonesia. Her work uncovers dynamic networks of meaning, focusing on the creative transmission of religious knowledge in Bugis manuscripts, performance, and ritual landscapes.
